Cambridge Layout
One of the city's fastest developed layouts. The layout comprises of 3 Main Roads, and 8 Cross Roads ( including the 1A cross) The Layout came into being in the 80s and has gone from being just a Residential area to a mix a commercial and residential. The 3rd Main road, which is now called the Shirdi Sai Baba Road, thanks to the Shirdi Baba temple at the 7th Cross intersection on 3rd Main road, has become a commercial road. Temples, Cafes, Restaurants, Mobile Phone shops and service centres, Music Shop, Florist, Flour Mill, Fruit Juice shop, Cobblers, Chemist and Pharmists, Gift Shops, Bank,School, Caterers,Supermarkets,Mechanics,Provision and Vegetable shops, newsagents, milk point,barber and beauty saloons,hospital and clinics, Internet Cafes etc etc, make this Layout self-contained. The Shirdi Sai Baba Road connects on to Indiranagar and via the 1st cross it connects to Domlur and Jogupalayam. Due to these connections, the layout has a high volume of traffic. The 1st Main and Shirdi Sai Baba Road have been converted to One Way Traffic System to manage the flow of traffic, despite which, traffic jams occur occassionally, particularly on Thursdays,when the visitors to Sai Baba temple peak.
