As of Sept, 2007 the nearly completed school opened with only Freshmen, the first graduating class (2011).

In the fall of 2008 a new class of freshmen was added, bringing the school population to about 600.

As of fall 2010 the school is fully populated with about 2,400 students, while construction continues.

Controversy still surrounds the school. Incomplete football stadium due to budget cutbacks, resentment by other schools for them money already spend, and a property boundary that was not sited correctly are among the controversies.

That said, the students of SJHHS love the school, and the the faculty and staff still have an excitement and enthusiasm missing from other local high schools.

June 22, 2011 saw the first class of graduating seniors.
