  • Although Hotel Kufuor is officially said to be owned by Chief Kufuor (President Kufuor's son), most Ghanaians believe the president acquired it himself. Due to the circumstances surrounding its acquisition and ownership, the hotel is often cited as one of the many pieces of evidence about the widespread corruption associated with the Kufuor Administration.
  • Presidential police guards once illegally detained a TV crew in the president's private residence for filming the controversial Hotel Kufuor. In reaction, and in solidarity with the unfortunate TVAfrica crew, Kwasi Pratt (a senior Ghanaian journalist) boldly walked to the hotel to take photographs while the police angrily looked on.
  • I think African regency is one of the finest Internatioanl Hotel in Ghana. I think all should be granted the legal chance to view this beautiful Organisation and also allow all to visit,if only it will mean the same.
  • This is one of the nicest, locally owned hotels in Ghana. The decor, the customer service, amenities and facilities are all world class. I wish it is replicated in capitals across Africa.
  • I visited the African Regency for the first time in June 2011 and was very impressed with it and it has surpassed all the other hotels in Accra which I have stayed at. I bring groups to Ghana and this hotel would be my first choice. The professionalism of the staff is first class as well as the great dining and tastefully decorated rooms.
