Kunin Castle (Kunín)

One of the most valuable Baroque monuments Moravia. Located at the northern edge of the village, in the middle of the park near the Church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross. It is one of the few castles, at which have been preserved its entirety, including the internal layout floor and vault of the first floor. Built for Frederick the Harrachach-Rohrau in 1726-34 by architect J.L. Hildebrandt. In new buildings was conceived the earlier, single-seat one. In the years 1792-1814 was in the castle situated Education Institute, whose most famous student was the eminent Czech historian Frantisek Palacky, called "Father of the Nation".
