Servitec is a company promoted by the Provincial Authorities of Bergamo, the Chamber of Commerce in Bergamo, the Industrial Union of Bergamo, in charge of the management of POINT - Science Park of Bergamo, located in Dalmine.
The Park is to house private and non-private research centres, scientific and technical services, organisations concerned with technology transfer, as well as an “incubator” for emerging and innovative enterprises. The Park hosts also the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Bergamo.
The aims of Servitec are to back up local enterprises, assisting in their evolution towards higher technological standards, enabling them to be more competitive on world markets, to assist in the growth of new hi-tech activities. In order to achieve these goals Servitec aims at:
-strengthening research, technical assistance and technology transfer structures, encouraging their collaboration with the University and the enterprises;
-promotions of scientific and technical projects and services to strengthen the competitiveness and the process of internationalisation of local enterprises;
-guaranteing technological back-up for enterprises, entrepreneurial associations and local Authorities.
The organisation began operating at the end of 1996. As companies are faced by increasingly open, worldwide competition, one of the main objectives of Servitec’s activities is assistance in technology transfer on international level.
