The castle built in early 14th century dominated the surrounding landscape until 1550, when it was burned down. It consisted of two parts - the upper, main part and a lower part, where dwellings, workshops and a brewery were situated. Today, only a small part of original walls is visible, as well as the dyke separating the two parts of the castle.
