Stary Hrozenkov villlage lies in the valley of the Kratky creek, 21 km southeast of Uhersky Brod at the border with Slovakia. The first written mention of it comes from 1261. Closeness of the Hungarian border had a large impact for destiny of the village and so that Hrozenkov was often looting and multiple heavy desolated in the 16th century. The village was settled by the people of Valachia (Romania) in half of the 18th century, while surrounding plains have been populated by Slovaks. From monuments must be recalled the parish church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of second half of the 18th century and the chapel of Our Lady near the pond, the church of St. John of Nepomuk and the memorial of folk architecture (house No. 76). There has been live folk tradition. Distinctive "stary hrozenkov" garb with crisscross embroidery is one of the most popular costumes of Moravian Slovakia. Each year in mid-June festival takes place in the village brass bands with the participation of Moravians and Slovaks, and in mid-July in the local amphitheater the Kopanicars traditional festivals take place with participation of folklore ensembles from both sides of the Moravian-Slovak border. Stary Hrozenkov territory, which is the center of so called Moravian Kopanice falls within the protected landscape area of the White Carpathians Mountains. The surroundings are suitable for summer and winter recreation and sports - a dense network of tourist routes of the White Carpathians ridges, long-distance cycle route passed through the municipalities of the Beskydy-Carpathian route crosscut here. On the slopes above the village are the ski slopes, accessible from Mikulcin Hill, where are suitable cross-country skiing terrains in the surroundings.
