One of the good, well run educational institutions of Dharwad, the Presentation Convent was established by Fr.Raymond Mascarenhas, founder of the Bethany Educational Society. Father Mascarenhas arrived in Dharwad along with 11 nuns in 1939 and established the school. Initially the classes were held in workers’ quarters, before moving to the present location. The school, which began with 25 students, has 3,500 students now. It has opened a high school and a pre-university college for girls. Mn
