Constructed 1927-29 in Art Deco style, the Grant Building was the tallest building in Pittsburgh until 1932. Its thirty-seven floors rise 485 feet (148 m) above street level. The building is known for its rooftop light beacon which spells out P-I-T-T-S-B-U-R-G-H in Morse Code.
