Lopeño is a census-designated place or (CDP) in Zapata County, Texas. The population was 174 at the 2010 census.
The community is named for Antonio López, husband of Doña Ysabel María Sánchez, to whom a 6,366-acre land grant, named Señor San José, was given by the king of Spain on July 16, 1767. The historical location of the community was flooded in 1953 after the construction of the Falcon Dam.
