The Water Recreation Capital of Texas! Canyon Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Comal County, Texas. The population was 16,269 at the 2010 census. The population currently is estimated to be about 17,715. It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. The CDP covers many unincorporated towns. It is a huge CDP that covers 156.9 square miles.
