Anna Maria is a city along the Gulf of Mexico in Manatee County in the U.S. state of Florida. Anna Maria sits to the immediate south of the entrance to Tampa Bay.

Anna Maria was first settled in 1892. The year 1925 saw the city's incorporation as well as the introduction of electricity to the community. Its population in the 2000 census was 1,814.

The city of Anna Maria should not be confused with Anna Maria Island. The city sits on the northern tip of Anna Maria Island, and shares the island with two other municipalities: Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach. The city of Anna Maria has a total area of 1 sq mi (2.5 km2), of which eighty-percent is on land.
