The Westpoort (West Gate), is the only remnant of the medieval city wall of Lo. The rest of the wall, including three other entry gates, was demolished in 1581-1582 by order of the Duke of Anjou and the Prince of Orange. The ditch dug outside the wall can still be seen and preserves the old outline of the city.
