A parclo interchange is under construction as of December 2011 as part of the Circle Drive South Project, which will extend Circle Drive to the new South bridge.

Much of this land occupies the former site of Mitchell's Gourmet Foods' meatpacking plant, previously known as Intercontinental Packers. It was one of Saskatoon's biggest employers prior to 2006. It was demolished in 2010 to make room for construction.

  • Wouldn't that be something if Mapleleaf foods bought Mitchell's just so they could shut them down so the city could build that overpass they were planning? Was thinking about that for awhile. Perhaps Mitchell's was refusing to move so the city talked Mapleleaf to purchase them? At any rate, I'm surprised it took the city this long to actually finish the freeway.
