  • 16 of the 29 spans over. Contractor Kayikkara demanded hike in amount. Contractor dropped and black listed. Remaining work including approach road has been re-tendered - will take another year to finish.
  • Finally all the spans of the RoB are complete. Work on the approach road on the northern side is progressing. The work on approach road on southern side is only starting. Seems it will be over in two months. Present contractors CVCC have a good track record and has promised to throw it open by Sept this year (2011).
  • Atlast, Edappally Railway Overbridge inaugurated on 4th February, 2012. In 2005,the contractor Kayikkara Constructions taken the first contract for about Rs.14 crore. Then they delayed and part payment received. After the LDF Govt. came to power, they speed up the work and project estimate revised. Then also the above contractor delayed and stopped the work. Then LDF Govt debarred that contractor and fresh contract given to Cherian Varky Contractors. Com. P Rajeev MP try his best to obtain the central govt approval for revised estimate. Outcome of all these effort, OUr dream , Edappally Over bridge come reality. Thanks LDF Govt. and P Rajeev MP
