This is one of 11 tunnels on Canadian National's rail line between Prince George and Prince Rupert, a line which was completed by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway during 1914. The tunnel is 931' in length, and is the southernmost of 4 tunnels in a one mile stretch of track through Kitselas Canyon. This route is used by VIA Rail Canada's Jasper-Prince Rupert Train, previously called the Skeena.
