  • I love this big city of Kano.But i know Nigerians can do better.This appears as the best planned city in Nigeria after Abuja the capital.
  • Kano is Nigeria's oldest city starting out as a trading town in the 11th century. It prospered and grew based on the trans-saharan trade and attracted people from as far away as Arabia. The islamic influence is extremely strong in Kano as can be seen fro m the Emir's Palace who is the traditional ruler of the city. According to the 2006 census Kano state has Nigeria's largest population (which is only believable if you have not been to Nigeria).
  • I strongly doubt the 2006 census figure of Kano State as the largest populated State in Nigeria as compared to Lagos State.Recently i was in Kano and what i saw on ground can justify to the above statement.
  • The 2006 census was not the true figure of Nigerians, and the distribution of the figures is a complete fraud which put Kano State has the largest state in Nigeria. No right thinking person will believe kano state is more populated than lagos state, thus the result of the census was to satisfy the selfish interested of some selected stupid people at realm of affairs of the country. Lagos State Household family is 4.9million according to the result while the population is 9.1million with that a household would have to be consisting 1.86 persons per household, is this not stupidity? At least if the household family is 4.9 one would expect that a complete family of two ( a couple without a child) to be 9.8million. Also, the 1991 census put lagos to be approximately 5.6million while kano was 5.1million, in 1992 or thereabout Jigawa state was created from this old kano state. Presently, Jigawa state alone 4million, now putting kano and jigawa together making 13million against 9million in lagos. Lagos is located in the coastal area while kano is in sub-sahara desert area. In conclusion, the true population of Kano City is not known so also the true population of Nigeria as a Country. Thanks
