This building was constructed in 1923-24 as the headquarters of Mellon Bank. Preservationists mourn the loss of the building's richly marbled and columned interior, which was gutted to accommodate the layout of a Lord & Taylor department store. The store opened in late 2000 and stayed in business for only four years. In 2012 the building was sold to PNC and it was remodeled as offices.
