This college was established in 1913 by Annie Besant, the then president of congress.
Rabindra Nath Tagore was the chancelor for this college.
An interesting thing to note is Rabindra Nath translated National Anthem to English in this place. He was on a tour to attend Indian national congress meeting in chennai at that time and happened to stay here as he was fallen ill. Doctors advised him to stay here in madanapalle, as the climate here has soothing effect, coz people call it as "Andhra OOTY".....and my town deserves it.www.thehindu.com/features/friday-review/a-historic-jour...
