Moscow State Art Gallery of People's Artist of the USSR and Russia Ilya Glazunov was created by the Moscow Government, the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov. Ilys Glazunov donated over 700 of his paintings and graphic works to be the core of the collection's galleries.

This building has been reconstructed so many times that its characteristics are eclectic rather than belonging to a particular period. In 1815 by the architect I. G. Grigoriev, in 1844 — to the second half of the 19th century). A stucco molding and platbands are typical of Naryshkin architecture.
