In the 1960s, Harold Roche sold his 131 acres of land to the Dakota County Agricultural Society. The farm outbuildings were removed, including the original barn. The silo remains today next to the Kiddie Barn and the farmhouse is still rented. Much of his land now serves as Dakota City.
