The fort was built in mid 12th century, and it is considered that the Hungarian city from the year 1154 which was the property of Prince Durda. According to some authors, the city is somewhat younger, was built in 1332 by order of John Marotija Macva ban. The fort had two towers. Fort was built of brick, bedemski walls are pretty solid with thickness of about 2 m. On the outer walls (height about 2.5 m) are clearly visible external reinforcement. Until now, this fortress is not carried out archaeological research. It lies on high ground where it empties into the Studva Bosut. By all accounts, the hills in which lies a fortress, was created artificially, then fill a former fortress was much larger than the present (occupied greater space, and apparently the place where today stands the Orthodox Church). In his time the fortress was surrounded by canals on all sides, and is today one of the channel fill. In fact, it is likely that Studva had one course that has today and that is Morović artificially directed to the current flow. There are legends about the secret corridors under the castle and even below Bosut. What can the fort especially to impress her are solid walls that for centuries and permanent presence of water failed to hurt.
