Emerson's downtown has gone through plans of getting redeveloped but all the designs selected nobody really wanted them. Some of our downtown buildings are in major need of fixing up or demolition. Recently the town decided to let property owners fix up or demolish their own buildings. Some progress is being made because a few new buildings have been built, replacing some of the ugly buildings. Examples: 1) Apartment Building, 2)Pharmacy Building, and 3) The Tool Chest. Even though it is not in the redevelopment zone, the new Pascack Valley Shopping Center is also included.
