Abandoned and overgrown circa 1935 to 2005, this was the "colored" cemetery of Zenda (also known as "Africa Town" and/or "Freedmen's Village") north of Harrisonburg, Virginia. The freed slaves and their families grouped in the area circa 1870-1930. The cemetery was saved from ruin by Al Jenkins and his Long's Chapel Preservation Society. Volunteers have cleared overgrowth and restored the site. An official historical marker was placed nearby to mark the site and that of neighboring Long's Chapel. The cemetery and adjacent chapel are listed on the National Register of Historic Places under the names "Longs Chapel" and "Old Athens Church and Athens Colored School".
