This collage was established more than 100 year back. College is named after Pithapuram Raja as he donated the land for this college. Even though this is a Govt Junior/Degree college, it is hard to get into this college as it is very famous in the city.

Andhra University Study Center for distance education,is also in the College Campus. This college has very good science laboratories and excellent lecturers.

Now it has become autonomous College. It was acredited by NAAC with B++ grade. Besides degree it has 2 post graduate programmes one with computer science and another with Organic Chemistry.
