Vaikkathur Shri Mahadeva
It is a very rare occasion in one's life to get an opportunity to construct temples or be part of temple construction or to co operate in one such venture - a blessed endeavour in one's life span.A godsend (heavenly) prospect has arrived for the worshipers to be nearer to god through whole-hearted collaboration in the construction of centuries old Vaikkathur Shri Mahadeva temple. There is no doubt that blessings of the almighty will be showered on you and your family as a result of the participation.
This area is known as the place where once Vasishta Maharshi and his disciples meditated. It was "Vasishta Puram" that later came to be known as "Vaikkathur" .A hardcore brahmin worshiper of Vaikkathappan lived here. It is believed that this devotee, as per the direction from Vaikkathappan who appeared in his Darshan, installed him, at the place with all warmth and reverence.
With the installation of following Gods and Goddesses Mahavishnu who erstwhile took the form of Narasimham, DarmaSathavu who stand adorned with all accessories, Ganapathi, Subrahmanian, Balasasthav, Bhagavathi, Nagarjuna- this temple procured a higher status - that of a Maha Kshethrasamuchayam.
