One of the 'new' towns that soaked up some of the excess population of London. The planners gave it features like bicycle paths but they didn't know how popular cars would be and built only narrow roads with the roads only wide enough for 1 parked car and 1 moving car, also not many garages.
Back when I lived there it had only a cinema and 1 disco for entertaniment and lots of pubs, so most of us went down the pub!
Now it's got a lot more things to do but it really helps to have a car which is a problem still.
