Comments

  • As of 2007, Paraparaumu Airport is at the center of a heated debate regarding land ownership, as the current owner moves to sell the land for private property development against the wishes of the local public.
  • From 1972 to 1981, I lived at 120 Alexander Road. One of the airport entrances was barely 150 meters from where I lived. The "NO TRESSPASSING" signs were ignored by most of the village kids, including me, and we spent many happy hours playing among the sand dunes that dotted the vast airport grounds. Given that the airport was hardly used during week days, it was a perfect place to play. I have many happy memories of it.
