Ethiopia's Posatl Adminstration was established in 1894, and joined the Universal Postal Union in 1908.
The head office of Ethiopia's postal service is located at the northeast corner, where Ras Desta Damtew Street connects to Churchill Road. Within the same building, in a separate section exists Ethiopia's Postal Museum. Founded in 1975, the museum houses a complete set of stamps printed in Ethiopia, beginning from the very first issue of 1894, which is known as the first Menelik issue.
