Durgadi - Mohangad

India / Maharashtra / Dehu Road /
 mountain, hillfort

This is a small fort named Durgadi, Some people claim that it is the Jaslodgad or Mohangad in the Hirdoshi Region.
The fort has no remains of any fortification or settlements. The top has a very small flat space to construct anything. It has a temple of Janani and thus is also called as Janani durga. The for has 3 water cisterns, 1 of which has a potable water and 2 are filled with mud and debris.
The fort must be used as watch tower to keep watch on Hirds Maval, Varandha Ghat and Chikna Ghat. Forts like Raigad, Rajgad, Torna, Purandar, Kangori, Rohida, Nakhinda hill, Rayreshwar Plateau, Kavlya fort etc. can be seen from top. The view from top is amazing.
A Chikna ghat descends from here to the Gothavali village in Konkan.
The fort can be reached from either Shirgaon or Durgadi village. The route from Durgadi is easier and less steep.
