- Jefferson Township, Putnam County, Indiana USA 46135
Former location of Horntown, perhaps named for a local family of the same surname. It held a school, several stores, eating places, churches, saloons and sawmills during the heyday of steam logging in the late 19th century. The last known building on site was the school and on its site, located on the northeast corner of the 'T' intersection where the town once stood, stand two trees, now very large, planted by its former students. No building traces are left anywhere within the townsite. Historic Vermillion Creek runs along the east side of the townsite.
