Henry Flagler completed the Overseas Railroad running from Miami to Key West n 1912.
Like other luxury hotels, such as The Royal Poinciana, The Breakers and Ponce de Leon, he had built in Florida along his rail lines.
Flagler never saw construction of the Casa Marina. He died in 1913. Construction began in 1918.
Grand opening was New Years Eve 1920.
