The current Hargla stone church was completed in 1821. In 1873–1874, the church was given larger windows, a high and beautiful panel-style ceiling, a stone tower and an extension, a spacious altar room with a triumphal arch. The original front doors and the openwork window design resembling a decorative frame have been preserved. The church space traditionally consists of three parts. The neo-Renaissance style panel-ceilinged nave, choir and polygonal apse. The interior features a neo-Gothic carved altar with the painting "The Descent from the Cross". The church has been declared a national cultural monument.
