Tartu Peter's Church is a Lutheran church in Tartu on the slope of the Emajõgi primeval valley at Narva road 104. The church is home to the Tartu Peter's congregation of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. The neo-Gothic church was completed in 1882–1884 according to the design of architect Viktor Schröter. The church was consecrated in September 1884. The church was finally completed in 1903, when the church's western tower and spires were completed (architect Georg Hellat). The construction of the church cost 110,000 rubles, the money was largely raised from donations. The interior of the church is also predominantly in the neo-Gothic style. The interior features notable altar walls (1900, Gustav Beermann), the altar painting "The Calling Christ" (1897, Johann Köler) and an organ with 22 registers (1891, Wilhelm Müllverstedt). In 2007, the congregation began preparing to repair the church tower, for which donations were collected. At the end of 2010, Tartu entrepreneur Tiit Veeber promised to support the restoration of the tower and the replacement of the roof to the extent of at least 5 million kroons (approx. 320,000 euros), and construction began in 2011. The renovation of the church was completed in the spring of 2013, the total cost of the work was over 10 million kroons.
