Constructed in 1874, the Boyd home was once owned by John Boyd. Boyd and his business partner, John Fraser, owned and operated a blacksmith shop situated between their homes on San Pablo Avenue. The round bay was added in 1900 by George Pfieffer, a carpenter employed at California Powder Works. The Boyd house is now occupied by the Pinole Creek Cafe.
