The late Peter Foggo of Arup Associates was the building architect. This project was the start of a journey through the landscape of Man between Peter and Charles Funke.

These landscape elements were to be the precursor of the terrace development that were to follow in the Finsbury Avenue and also the Broadgate Arena.
Many of the plant species were innovative in so far as their hardiness in an environment that was prone to extremes of weather. The minimal soil depth introduced was far in advance of the time and set parameters for a new thought process.

This project provided extensive roof gardens at a series of levels up to the 6th floor, including grass areas, planted beds and semi-mature trees. The result was the greening of a building that to this day is often referred to as “The Hanging Gardens of Babylon”.
