Comments

  • The SpaceX site shows 3 smaller circular pads and one larger one closer t o the ocean. Plus a rectangular paved area.
  • Photography used in Wikimapia can sometimes be a bit dated. Obviously this from before work started after Jan 2015 when area was leased. SpaceX has only built one large 86m diameter pad so far. 3 smaller pads are for landing Falcon Heavy Booster stages (not sure why 3 rather than just 2, maybe a spare). Rectangular area is supposedly for stage handling, supposedly something about going from vertical to horizontal, but I would think that would happen on the pad using a transporter of some kind.
