Talla Cheruvu Lake

This is a lake for irrigation for around 500 acres of land. Main crop under this lake is Paddy. The name "Talla" means Toddy trees. In and around of this lake there were huge number of Toddy trees present. A community called Gowda/Goud in Banapuram village does toddy tapping as their employment. The liquid which comes after toddy tapping is called as "kallu" or white alcohol which is far better in taste than beer/whisky in its purest form. Gowda/Goud caste people are highest in number in this village.
