A lighted beacon was established in 1925 at nearby Kolachal. Subsequently a day mark beacon was provided at Vilinjam during 1960.
Open to visitors every day from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Entry fee: Rs. 10 for nationals, Rs. 25 (USD 0.50) for foreign nationals, Rs. 20 for camera.
