Jidong Market — Jidong was renowned as long as a 100 years ago as a vibrant peddlers field. The marketplace was one of the best food specialty markets, and nearby residents of Suwon, Yongin, etc. often visited.

Through a remodeling project taking three years, beginning in 2002, the areas within the marketplace, including dried fish, meat, seafood, and vegetables shops, were reorganized and updated. Nowadays, there are more than 40 sundae and gobchang (pork/beef intestine) restaurants in the market.

Since 2007, the facilities modernization project started and the arcade, air conditioning, and heat were installed. For the first time among domestic traditional markets, Jidong opened and is running a call center.

In 2008, an underground market maintenance project was undertaken as part of a joint structural renewal project.
