  The present day Kuzhikkad Junction is part of Kuzhikkad Kara in old Vadavucode-Puthecurizu Panchayat in Chemmanatu Village. Most of the area in old Kuzhikkad Kara was acquired by FACT for their Cochin Division in Ambalamedu. Hence, the entrance to FACT compound was named as FACT Junction but later the people called it as Kuzhikkad Junction. The heavy industrialization of the area has been changing the ambience of the place continuously. Earlier the locality was part of a very beautiful village.

  Before the Oil Refinery & FACT (CD) period there was no boundary walls in the area. There was no electricity as well for the residential area. When the Kings ruled, Kuzhikkad was part of Travancore dynasty and the boarder with Cochin dynasty was Chithrappuzha.
