The "Castle of Ronse" was built in 1630 by Jan van Nassau, Earl of Ronse. The castle in late Renaissance style on a square plan with a gate, four corner towers and residential rear wing and chapel. It was demolished by political reluctance from 1823 and the 20 hectare property was parcelled out.
