It's actually Sherman E. Burroughs High School (I was in the class of 65). No relation to Oak Tree Country Club, nor to F-15, or the Test Pilot School (both of these latter two link to Edwards Air Force Base, 60 miles south)

And actually the land that belongs to Sherman E. Burroughs is larger than this outline. The boundary follows the fence line to the north, west, east and south. It also captures all of the road for the campus.

Sherman E. Buroughs High School is named after the first commander of NOTS (Naval Ordnance Test Station) China Lake (now NAWS China Lake). The school still resides on NAWS China Lake property, with the fence-line moved behind the property to allow greater access for the community in general. Both military dependents and civilian dependents attend this school.
