The 1975 Ken Russell adaption of The Who's 1969 rock opera 'Tommy' was partly filmed here,
It was used for the remembrance service following Captain Walker's presumed death takes place at Sally Simpson's father's Church, in reality the Church of St Thomas a' Beckett, in the village of Warblington, just outside Havant, North of Portsmouth.

Built in the 12th century, the Church sits in front of another Tommy location, Warblington Castle. Its graveyard contains two small huts, built in the 17th century to act as shelter for watchmen keeping an eye out for grave robbers.
The war memorial seen in the film was a prop.
