Portmeirion was designed by the architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis and built from 1925 to 1972.

A visit to Portmeirion, the location for the 1960s British cult television series 'The Prisoner', starring Patrick McGoohan, is a unique and memorable experience.

The satellite photo shows low tide. The range of tides is large here, and they can flood the estuary suddenly. In less than 30 minutes it can turn from a wide beach into a deep bay.

It is a great area in North Wales to visit and there is hotel found here www.portmeirion-village.com/en/stay/ and also holiday cottages to stay in found here www.portmeirion-village.com/en/stay/portmeirion-cottage...
