Originally built by the OA&E Railway in the early 1900's, Dozier was used as a wye and connection to the Cannon wye and overpass at the former Southern Pacific Railroad (Union Pacific today) for the isolated Vacaville and Fairfield Branches of the company that later took over the OA&E, the Sacramento Northern. By the time the parent railroad Western Pacific (UP) took over the Sacramento Northern, the one time flag-stop at Dozier became a secondary part of the line.
Today, Dozier still connects to the national railroad system at Cannon, but the route is currently operated by the Bay Area Electric Railway Association, or BAERA. The tracks were donated by the UP to BAERA in 1993.
