hotel, place with historical importance
Opened in 1908 as the Flanagan Hotel (after its owner, James Flanagan), the Senator is Saskatoon's oldest hotel. Renamed the Senator Hotel in 1940 (much to the disdain of the locals), it has undergone extensive remodeling. While much of the exterior has been altered, some of the original details have been restored by the present owners. Restoration of the interior has also taken place in the lobby and dining room.
