  • The yard is primarly used to classify freight cars, but also has 4 tracks that are used for Intermodal and Roadrailer(Triple Crown).
  • My family lived at 106th & Oglesby, Trumbull Park Homes from 1942 t0 1947. The empty land between the project and the Calumet yard was our playground. This is where my addiction to all things railroad was formed.
  • THE CALUMET YARD . . . 103rd and Doty . . . what fond memories! My brother and I grew up in Roseland (10416 S. Eberhart), and we both spent many happy hours watching trains (and even riding trains) at this location. "Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end". But, sadly, they did. Too bad.
