Gavier Lake

This place was saved by a group of young kids who regularly visited this lake for bird watching. It was saved from being dug deep, and kept shallow for birds marshy habitat. Asif Khan, Darshan Desai, Chirag Jagirdar, Akshay Joshi went on cycle in school days and they were instrumental in raising the alarm for saving this place. Being a part of Nature Club, they called other senior members and then Asif's Father, the then CF of Surat intervened by Forest Department, and out of court settlement with GWSSB (guj Water supply and Severage Board. the balance between need of people and birds was reached and half the lake was saved from being deepened.
