 lighthouse  Add category

In Spanish, 'el faro' often sounds like 'ail FAH-doh' (with the 'r' in 'faro' pronounced as a soft quick 'd').

Entire lighthouse painted white. This is a staffed naval light station. ... Despite the popularity of the Acapulco resort area, this lighthouse is not very well known. Located at the highest point of the island, at the southwestern entrance to the Bahía de Acapulco. Accessible by passenger ferry from Playa Caletilla and a hiking trail. Site and tower generally closed ..."
